Head of People, HR/People team

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Head of People to join our Human Resources/People team to deliver a high-quality commercially focused, professional HR function at Jacksons. Based at our Stockton office, you will work as part of a supportive and friendly team, primarily assisting the Head of Operations and Senior Leadership team in areas such as recruitment, training, and people strategy to ensure the firm continues to attract, develop and retain high-quality legal and business service professionals.

About the Role

This role is central to ensuring the firm operates in line with employment law, regulatory obligations and best practice, while supporting a positive, collaborative and high-performing culture.

This is a busy and varied role, and the main duties will include:

  • Supporting both the day-to-day operational HR activity and strategic people initiatives
  • Leading talent acquisition and workforce planning activities
  • Contributing to the development and delivery of the firm’s people strategy
  • Supporting the development and implementation of performance frameworks across the firm
  • Ensuring fair and effective HR policies, processes and systems are in place consistently across all departments
  • Leading improvements in HR systems, reporting, and automation where appropriate
  • Overseeing payroll coordination and benefits administration
  • Promoting a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture across the firm

About You

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • A CIPD (Level 5 minimum) or equivalent qualification
  • Significant experience in a senior HR role
  • A strong commercial awareness
  • The ability to manage both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operational HR matters
  • The ability to lead and develop other HR/People professionals and work effectively with the Senior Leadership team and key stakeholders
  • Be highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Be committed to continuous improvement and best practice
